Recent research is clearly demonstrating how our early relational experiences shape the development of the neural networks within our brains and set into motion how we feel about ourselves, others and the world. These neural habits affect how we relate to others. That same research also reveals how we can create changes in the context of healthy, safe, connected relationships. These changes can impact our lives in very powerful ways. My work is very much shaped by this and I strive to help my clients create those deep, long lasting changes in their lives.
Hello,
Thanks for visiting the site.
I am extremely passionate about helping individuals and couples improve their relationships and improve the emotional and relational quality of their lives.
Relationships are the birthplace of the soul, and it is of the utmost importance to have relationships that are safe, loving and connected. There are many relationships in our lives that are important, i.e., our family of origin, spouses, friends and our higher power.
It is my mission to provide each person I work with an opportunity to have a safe, caring, professional relationship and an opportunity to grow from that experience; so as to go into the world able to establish and maintain joyful relationships with those that they love. I am most known for my honest, direct and compassionate approach to therapy. I would love to meet you and to see if we might make a great team. I welcome the opportunity to help you create more joyful and loving connections with your most precious loved ones.
Professional Background
I have been working in the mental health field since 1991 and have been licensed as an LMFT since 2000. I currently hold licensure in both California and Texas. I have more than 20 years of experience working in a variety of settings providing counseling and therapy to adults, children, families, couples and groups across diverse populations. I received both a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
On a Slightly Personal Note
I originally hail from sunny Southern California. My family and I have been residents of Texas since 2005 and currently reside in the North Dallas Metroplex. I am the mother of two amazing young adults and one very scruffy Mini Schnauzer named Buddy.
As a therapist and a human, I am most known for my candor, humor and grittiness. My approach allows me to connect with my clients and help them clarify their own experience and find their own voice.
I am simply honored to have the opportunity to walk alongside my clients in their journey. I am truly grateful to God that I have been gifted such a wonderful opportunity and it is my hearts joy to do this very special work.
